The TELL Conference
by Seyyed Abdollah Shahrokni - Monday, 14 May 2012, 11:39 PM

There was a fascinating conference event at Lorestan University on May 2, 2012. Fahim attended the TELL conference with a poster entitled, "Spectacle of Clicks: Logs from Moodle," which reflected a six-month data collection on the clicking patterns of 115 participants enrolled in 10 courses. The results suggested that forums, messages, and chats were among the most favourite online tasks the participants attempted in their respective courses, regardless of their perceived proficiency levels.

To download a copy of the paper, please go to the articles folder on the main menu, or click here.

We would like to thank the participants whose online performance was reflected in this paper. Also, our special thanks go to the editorial board of English Department at Lorestan University who provided us with the opportunity to present our paper at The First National Conference on Issues in English Literature and Language Teaching: New Trends and Criticisms.

That's a shame!

This morning, 3 May, Munch’s artwork, The Scream, was sold for $119.9 million at Sotheby's in New York. I got shocked! That money could help thousands of homeless people afford a place to live in. It could help millions of starving people find something to eat and hit the hay with their stomach full. It could do many other things to the benefit of the stricken society there, but it was all paid for an artwork to be hoisted up in a luxury house where no one cares for the homeless and the starving! That’s a shame.
